Biographical Info

  • Born in Queens, NY, on May 10 – is a Taurus!

  • Graduated from Swarthmore College with a BA in Music 

  • Earned MM in Conducting from the Aaron Copland School of Music

  • Trained as pianist, vocalist, bassoonist, and conductor

  • Lives in Aberdeen, NJ with her husband Chaim and son Roni

Anecdotes

  • Was introduced to classical music through ballet as a small child by her mother; first ballet was Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker

  • Began piano studies at 4 and bassoon studies at 12

  • Played bassoon in the Children’s Orchestra Society and the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of New York as a teen

  • Sang at the Vatican and in Italian cathedrals with her high school chamber choir

  • Began conducting choir, wind ensemble, and marching band as a high schooler at Manhasset High School in a suburb of New York City – school had 2 orchestras, 2 bands, and 4 choirs

  • Has worked as a tap instructor, stage manager, social media manager, web designer, and as a camp counselor in the Rocky Mountains

  • Fluent in Hebrew Cantillation

  • Enjoys accompanying on piano her friend’s renditions of Broadway tunes, jazz standards, billboard top 40, and of course, 90’s Disney hits
